Mostly cloudy day, also quite windy too. During a brief clear spell I took the Solarscope out to do a quick sunspot count.

Between clouds I managed to count three spots in three areas (886, 887 and 891). Other than that I couldn't see any other markings, this wasn't helped by the fact that cloud and wind made for a rather tricky observation.

Equipment: Solarscope
Temperature: 17.0C ...
Dew Point: 11.5C ...
Humidity: 70% ...
Wind Speed: 6.3mph ...
Wind Dir: South West ...
Pressure: 1014.2hPa ...
Notes:

The day had been overcast until mid afternoon and then it started to clear. As conditions improved I used a brief clear spell to take the Solarscope out to do a quick sunspot count.

I could see a single spot in active area 886 (similar to yesterday) and could also see two spots, near the limb of the Sun, in new active area 886. This area looked like it would be disappearing over the limb in the next day or so.

While I couldn't see any spots anywhere else on the Sun I could detect mottling where active areas 885 and 887 were reported as being located.
