The day had been overcast until mid afternoon and then it started to clear. As conditions improved I used a brief clear spell to take the Solarscope out to do a quick sunspot count.

I could see a single spot in active area 886 (similar to yesterday) and could also see two spots, near the limb of the Sun, in new active area 886. This area looked like it would be disappearing over the limb in the next day or so.

While I couldn't see any spots anywhere else on the Sun I could detect mottling where active areas 885 and 887 were reported as being located.

A very cloudy day with very few clear spells. The gaps in the cloud tended to be very hazy. Despite the conditions I took the Solarscope out to do a quick sunspot count.

Through the Solarscope I could still see active areas 885 and 886. I counted a total of 4 visible spots, 2 in area 885 and 2 in area 886. Area 885 appeared to be less complex than yesterday's observation.

A mostly cloudy day with showers and some clear moments. The clear moments seemed rather hazy. Had a short clear spell between clouds so took the Solarscope out to do a quick sunspot count.

Through the Solarscope I could see two active areas (885 and 886). I counted a total of 9 visible spots, 7 in area 885 and 2 in area 886. Four spots in 885 stood out the most and they seemed to be arranged in a diamond formation.
